Help Center

Guides, FAQs, and contact information for operators, regulators, and the public.

Getting Started

The OpGal Africa Registry is a publicly accessible directory of certified OGI camera operators. You can search for any operator, verify a certificate number, and download official verification letters — all without an account.

For Operators
Logging in to the Operator Portal

Your portal account is created for you by a Registry Admin once your certification is on record. Visit Operator Portal Login and enter the username and password provided to you. If you have not received credentials, contact a Registry Admin.

Viewing your certifications

After logging in, go to My Certifications in the sidebar. All active, expired, and historical certification records are listed there along with their expiry dates.

Downloading your Verification Letter

From the portal sidebar click Verification Letter. A PDF is generated on demand showing your current certification status, signed by both Alfa Design (Field Audit Authority) and OpGal Africa (Registry Authority).

Updating your contact information

Go to Update Contact Info in the sidebar to update your phone number and address. Email changes must be requested through a Registry Admin.

Requesting removal from the registry

If you wish to be removed from the public registry, submit a Removal Request from the portal. A Registry Admin will review and action your request.

For Regulators
Logging in to the Regulator Portal

The Regulator Portal is accessible at Regulator Login. Your access credentials are provisioned by OpGal Africa. Contact the registry if you have not received login details.

Verifying an operator

After logging in, the dashboard shows a live list of all active operators. You can click any operator to view their full compliance snapshot including certification status, last audit result, and refresher compliance.

Submitting a query

If you require an official written response about a specific operator, use Submit Query. Registry Admins will respond within the agreed service window and you will be able to download a PDF of the response.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. The public registry search and certificate verification tool are completely free and require no account. Anyone can look up an operator or verify a certificate number.

You must first complete an approved OGI camera operator training programme and pass the assessment conducted by Alfa Design. Once your assessment is submitted to OpGal Africa, a Registry Admin will create your record. You can also submit an application through the Apply page.

An expired certification means your annual renewal date has passed. You need to complete a refresher training session. Contact your training provider or Alfa Design to arrange this. Once the refresher is recorded in the system by a Registry Admin, your status will be updated automatically.

Portal password resets must be done by a Registry Admin. Contact the OpGal Africa office using the details in the Contact Us section below and provide your Registry ID. Your password will be reset and communicated to you securely.

Active means the operator has a valid certification with no outstanding compliance issues. Conditional means the certification is valid but there is a pending audit finding or refresher requirement that must be resolved within a set period. Both statuses allow the operator to work, but Conditional operators are under closer review.

Concerns about a certified operator should be directed to OpGal Africa using the contact information below. Regulators can also submit a formal query through the Regulator Portal. All concerns are treated confidentially.
